An Introduction to VoIP / IP Phones
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is a way to make phone calls using the internet as the transmission method, rather than a landline.
VoIP also known as IP (Internet Protocol) is becoming an increasingly exciting technology, offering substantial reductions in telephone call costs and fixed cost options.
In basic terms, VoIP allows you to receive and make telephone and fax calls through the Internet using your broadband or cable connection, by encoding your telephone and fax calls into Internet Protocol then routing them in the same way that data is sent. Utilising spare bandwidth on your existing data links rather than using traditional telephone or mobile phone networks.
Your callers will never know that it's any different as it sounds just like a normal phone call.
